Bosch is the most diagnosable appliance in most Colorado Springs kitchens, and the E-code family is why. The control stores fault history, the service menu is reachable on nearly every current model, and the codes are specific enough to name a component rather than a general area. Here is what the ones we see most in this metro actually mean.

What the E-Codes Are Really Telling You
E15 is the code owners meet first and misread most. It means the base-pan leak protection has tripped: water reached the base, the float rose, and the machine shut itself down rather than flood your floor. E15 is not a malfunction. It is the appliance working exactly as designed, and the actual job is finding the small leak that set it off, usually a hose, a seal, or the sump.
E24 and E22 both point at drainage, and both are worth checking yourself before booking. The filter in the sump accounts for a large share of these, costs nothing to clear, and is designed to be concise. Then the drain hose, checking for the kink an installer left behind the machine. Only after those does the pump become the suspect.
E09 is the flow-through heater, and it is where Colorado Springs water shows up: scale on the heating circuit is the quiet reason a machine drifts toward wet dishes and eventually faults.
How We Work a Bosch Code
We start with the stored fault history rather than the code on the display. The code you see is the most recent event; the history often shows the pattern behind it. An E15 with three prior drain faults tells a different story than an E15 on its own, and that difference changes what we bring.
On a heater fault we test the flow-through heater for resistance and continuity and check the control side before condemning either, because a failed heater and a control that cannot drive it look identical from the front panel.
Why the Model Number Matters on a Bosch
Bosch series numbers tell us what is inside, and that is not true of every brand. An SHPM88 in the 800 Series uses the Crystal Dry zeolite system, which fails differently from the condensation drying in a 300 Series SHEM63. A Benchmark SHX9 has a different sump geometry again. The same E09 on those three machines can mean three different parts on the van.
